Comprehensive Quality Contest Activity
In order to fully implement quality-oriented education, stimulate students' interest in learning, promote classroom teaching, foster a healthy and positive academic atmosphere, encourage students to participate in activities and competitions, cultivate their spirit of proactive endeavor, courage to compete, and teamwork, provide a platform for students with outstanding abilities to showcase their talents, promote the individualized development and comprehensive quality improvement of students, and deepen the reform of teaching evaluation, the Primary School Department held the 'Spring Festival Cup' Student Comprehensive Quality Competition.
To begin with, for each grade level, special competition projects have been meticulously designed based on students' cognitive characteristics. The first grade's 'Pinyin Challenge' aims to lay a solid foundation, the second grade's 'Dictionary Search Competition' aims to enhance skills, the third grade's 'Book Sharing Session' aims at conveying the joy of reading, the fourth grade's 'Extracurricular Knowledge Competition' aims to broaden horizons, the fifth grade's 'Extracurricular Reading Exchange' intends to cultivate the fragrance of books, and the sixth grade's 'Comprehensive Knowledge Competition' aims to test comprehensive literacy.
Evidently, this activity provided a platform for students to showcase their language skills, helping them grow through competition and communication.
Moreover, the 'Spring Festival Cup' mathematics competition was held simultaneously at different grade levels, with various competitions designed to test the calculation skills and reaction abilities of the participants. For instance, the 'Math, Hello' thinking competition for Grades 2 to 6 focused on core competencies such as logical reasoning, fully showcasing the charm of mathematical thinking. Therefore, this competition was both popular and selective, promoting learning through the competition and providing a platform for students of different grades to enhance their mathematical literacy.
Furthermore, the 'Spring Festival Cup' English competition was divided into different formats according to grades: for lower grades, a natural reading quiz competition with elements such as letter sound challenges was held, creating a lively atmosphere in the venue; for middle and upper grades, a written test was conducted to assess the comprehensive language application ability of the contestants, who demonstrated excellent qualities. Thus, the event combined knowledge and fun, testing the learning outcomes, and also injecting vitality into subsequent English learning.
In addition, the 'Spring Festival Cup' Science and Information Competition has officially kicked off! For one thing, in the science competition, students in Grades One and Two were engaged in DIY activities of decorating eggs with onion peels, while students in Grades Three to Five were challenged with the 'firecracker' experiment of lighting candles and extinguishing them. For another, in the information competition, students from Grades Three to Six competed in Scratch programming in the computer room on the third floor. Evidently, the diverse events allowed students to experience the charm of the subjects through practice and competition.
In the meantime, the 'Spring Festival Cup' long-distance running competition has kicked off with great enthusiasm! On the field, the young competitors were chasing each other and pushing forward bravely; beside the track, the cheering sounds were continuous. Thus, not only did this competition test the speed and endurance of the participants, but also allowed the children to gain the joy of hard work while running, thus injecting a lot of vitality into the campus.
Last but not the least, the 'Spring Festival Cup' event jointly showcased the art and music disciplines, bringing about a unique and splendid scene in the winter campus! On the one hand, the art group, with the theme 'Inheritance of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Creating the Future Together', led the children to explore the beauty of intangible cultural heritage, sketching the traditional charm with every stroke, and touching the cultural roots through creation; On the other hand, the music group has been working hard to prepare the 2026 New Year's Day cultural performance. Correspondingly, the songs and laughter blended together, with children's voices resonating with the melodies, and the New Year's prelude played. More remarkably, when the intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship met the cheerful songs on the stage, this academic feast was lighting up students' winter days in a diverse manner!
In conclusion, the 'Spring Festival Cup' series of academic activities have come to a successful conclusion! From the reading of Chinese texts to the rapid calculation in mathematics, the competition in English, the intellectual confrontation in science experiments and programming challenges, to the vigorous competition in long-distance running, as well as the artistic display of traditional art creation in painting and the cultural performance in music, each academic activity was full of excitement. More noticeably, not only did this grand event covering all grade levels and spanning multiple fields enable students to consolidate their foundations and enhance their qualities through competition and practice, but also ignited everyone's enthusiasm for learning in diverse forms, thus adding a rich and colorful touch to the campus life.
